Ride an Elephant in Laos
Sitting on the neck of an elephant with your barefeet wedged behind her ears, feeling the soft bristles on the top of her head is definitely an unforgettable experience.
Northern Laos is home to some excellent elephant programs
The elephant village was established in 2003 to protect and rehabilitate Asian elephants who had endured a life of logging. This private initiative employs mahouts (caretakers), international vets and local villagers who work with the simple goal of giving these elephants a new future and meaningful retirement.
