Highlights

  • Cruise UNESCO World Heritage Listed Halong Bay

  • Overnight in a deluxe Chinese junk style hotel

  • Kayak hidden caves, lagoons and secluded beaches

Overview

This is an adventure for kayak enthusiasts and beginners. From Hanoi, you drive to Halong Bay on the north east coast of Vietnam. It is estimated over 3000 limestone and dolomite islets scatter this 1500 square kilometre bay. Spend two nights aboard a Chinese junk style hotel stopping off to explore caves and beaches and feasting on freshly caught seafood, local cuisine and western dishes. Using the junk as your base, kayak through hidden lagoons and visit floating villages to talk with local fishermen. The water is calm and the bays are protected by the thousand islands making the conditions ideal for sea kayaking. Or, you can simply laze on the sundeck of the junk while she navigates amazing rock formations protruding from the water.
